 THE TEACHER ACADEMY is an exciting program at The City University of New York. The purpose of The Teacher Academy is to prepare a new generation of exceptional teachers who will produce high levels of student achievement and inspire middle and high school students' interest in mathematics and science. Teacher Academy students are talented and motivated. At CCNY, they find others who share a passion for mathematics and science and a dedication to public service. Throughout their undergraduate years, Teacher Academy students become accomplished mathematicians and scientists. At the same time, they master the art of teaching through regular and carefully designed experiences in middle and high school classrooms in New York City. Under the guidance of outstanding CCNY faculty and extraordinary New York City public school teachers, Teacher Academy students gain the opportunity to unlock the wonders of mathematics and science, and they also experience the thrill of introducing a new group of public school students to fresh ideas and fascinating discoveries.
